NFL players against EA
Six thousand former NFL players are suing the publisher Electronic Arts for publishing their prototypes without their permissions in the game Madden NFL 09. THe plaintiffs claim that EA knowingly and intentionally used the data from real players in the game in such a way as to avoid having to pay royalties. Tony Davis, a veteran of the NFL, confirms that the virtual prototypes have exactly the same weight, height, position and other key paramters, like the real players at the moment of their stay in the league.
