Just over a year following the closure of UK developer Realtime WorldsAll Points Bulletin, the crime faction title largely responsible for killing them, is being reborn under the name APB Reloaded as a free-to-play MMO available for Steam.

After Realtime Worlds’ demise in September 2010, the game rights were purchased for approximately $2.5 million by K2 Network, a California-based company specializing in MMO titles. In its new iteration, APB Reloaded is being launched by Reloaded Productions, a K2 subsidiary.

Free-to-play or not, and while I am intrigued to discover just what exactly went wrong with this title, it is my responsibility as the disseminator of this news to inform you that the original version of APB garnered a Metacritic average of just 58%, and was bad enough to run its developer into the ground.
